Sinopharm vaccines are secured, approximately 900,000 might arrive on August 2nd or 3rd. 500,000 Pfizer vaccines might arrive on the 6th, and we hope that another Sinopharm batch will arrive on the 9th," he told RPP radio and TV station.

Concerning the staff necessary to vaccinate the population, the government official mentioned that there is a deficit in personnel. Therefore, his administration will intend to optimize human resources by providing overtime pay.
"We will talk with health promoters who can work in the vaccination process, include Armed Forces staff so they can help, as well as talk with communal leaders so they can facilitate the vaccination process and avoid resistance," he added.
In this sense, Cevallos explained that almost 20% of Peruvians are against getting vaccinated. For that reason, it is important to work "from different fronts," as the vaccination process is a priority.
