As Copa America Brasil 2019's top scorer, Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero consolidated his position as one of the most lethal forwards in the continent.

In fact, the 35-year-old captain of the Peruvian team became Copa America's top scorer for the third time, this time together with Brazilian striker Everton, both with three goals.

The first time the "Predator" was crowned as top scorer of this tournament was in Argentina back in 2011.

At said edition, Guerrero netted five goals. His victims were Uruguay (1) and Mexico (1) in the group stage, as well as Venezuela (3) in the match for the third place.

Afterwards, at Copa America Chile 2015, the Peruvian scored four goals: 3 against Bolivia in a quarterfinal display, and 1 against Paraguay, which helped his side secure the third place.

In 2015, the Internacional star shared the title with Chile's Eduardo Vargas, both with four goals.

His goals against Bolivia (1), Chile (1), and Brazil (1) helped Peru finish as the Copa America runner-up in a historic final.

This year, Guerrero shares the title with Brazil's Everton, who held the trophy due to having more assists during the tournament.

His goal at the recent final against Brazil has allowed Guerrero to become the Copa America's all-time leading scorer among active players with 14 goals.
