The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated its commitment to defending and promoting the rights of children and adolescents.

The government agency said this in a post on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday as part of the Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence against this sector of the population.

"On the National Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its firm commitment to the defense and promotion of the rights of children and adolescents," the sector stated.

In April 2022, the Government of Peru enacted Law No. 31440, which declared November 19 National Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents.

The regulation provides the inclusion of education and prevention activities related to the celebration of this day in the school civic calendar and in the national holiday calendar.
