The Central Reserve Bank (BCR) on Friday indicated that interannual inflation decreased from 8.81% in June to 8.74% in July 2022 —after five months of an increasing trend.

The issuing entity indicated that the monthly inflation rate was 0.94% last July —lower than that registered in the previous month (1.19%) due to lower variations in fuel prices.

The BCR explained that price increases with the highest incidence on inflation last July corresponded to local transportation (1.9%), meals outside home (0.8%), and potatoes (11%).

On the other hand, price decreases with the greatest (negative) contributions corresponded to eggs (-2.4%), vegetables (-2.5%), and leaves or stems (-6.7%).
