Peru's national soccer team on Thursday held its first training session in Brazil ahead of its debut match against Venezuela at the 2019 Copa America.

The practices took place at Sport Club Internacional's training ground, whose facilities are familiar to Peruvian forward Paolo Guerrero since here is where he trains with his club team.

The session started at 9:30 AM local time (7:30 AM Peru time). The Incas worked out at the gym for slightly more than half an hour before their stretching and ball exercises.

Coach Ricardo Gareca is believed to have chosen the players for the Saturday clash.

The 11 players that will start the game against Venezuela could be as follows: Pedro Gallese is likely to be Gareca's first choice goalkeeper.

Miguel Araujo along with Carlos Zambrano will probably form the heart of the defense, with Luis Advincula and Miguel Trauco the likely right and left backs, respectively.

On the other hand, Renato Tapia and Yoshimar Yotun may form the midfield base.

Christian Cueva and Edison Flores might provide the creative flair with Jefferson Farfan ahead of them.

Finally, as seen in the practice, Paolo Guerrero will be the only attacker.

The Peruvian squad arrived in Porto Alegre Wednesday at 8:30 PM.

The Copa America tournament will run from June 14 to July 7, and Peru's first match will be against Venezuela at Arena do Gremio in the aforementioned Brazilian city on June 15.
