Peru, Switzerland agree to broaden commercial air relations

19:16 | Lima, Oct. 14.

The Governments of Peru and the Swiss Confederation on Thursday signed the Protocol of Amendment to the existing Air Services Agreement (ASA) between both countries, which will help broaden and upgrade commercial air relations and create new possibilities in terms of air routes.

Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Oscar Maurtua and Chargé d'affaires at the Swiss Embassy in Peru Stefano Vescovi sealed the deal.

This Protocol of Amendment aims to strengthen tourist exchange between Peru and Switzerland —by increasing the flow of passengers— and to invigorate commercial air relations between both countries.

This way, Peru continues to promote international instruments that complement national efforts to revive inbound tourism and to improve Peru's air connectivity with Europe for the benefit of air transport users.

This new agreement, which amends the ASA signed in 2000, has been negotiated and agreed upon between the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC) of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and its Swiss counterpart.
