Peru's Deputy Public Health Minister Percy Minaya has affirmed that people over 60 years old will be included in the first phase of vaccination against COVID-19, as well as those who suffer from more than one comorbidity.

In remarks to Canal N, the government official indicated that this inclusion will depend on the availability of vaccines and is aimed at reducing the risk of death among the most vulnerable population.

Likewise, Minaya stated that it will be scheduled in accordance with age groups. Therefore, people over 80 years of age will receive the vaccine, followed by those who are 70 and 60 years.

Concerning the citizens who have more than one chronic illness, they will also be included in the first phase, since they are at risk of developing more serious symptoms.
