Peru, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening the relationship with the United States of America on the 246th anniversary of its independence.

In a post on its official Twitter account, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the values that both nations share, such as the promotion and protection of democratic principles, as well as the promotion of economic and social development.

"Peru reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening the relationship with the United States in the fight against corruption, drug trafficking, and for environmental protection so as to ensure inclusive development with social justice," the government agency stated.

"Congratulations to the people and Government of the United States on their independence day anniversary," the publication said.

As is known, the North American nation celebrates its Independence Day on July 4th to commemorate the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
