Lilia Paredes —the wife of President-elect Pedro Castillo
— and their children arrived in the Peruvian capital Lima from Cajamarca region on Sunday afternoon.
Castillo's family landed at Jorge Chavez International Airport a day after the arrival of President-elect's parents and siblings, also from Cajamarca.
His relatives are expected to participate in the inauguration ceremony scheduled for July 28.
—a preschool teacher— and her family reside in the district of Chugur in Cajamarca region.
In previous statements, the future First Lady affirmed that she will do everything in her power to support her husband so that he can govern well.
Additionally, Paredes admitted that she felt very grateful after she knew the official results of the presidential runoff election.
"We are going to make it with the help of all Peruvians. It is a great responsibility, but we are going to do it. We are going to do what has been promised, and I will support my husband in everything I can," she remarked at that time.
