Peru President oversees fishing pier project

President Martin Vizcarra on Friday oversaw Ilo City's Artisanal Fishing Pier (DPA), a project that should be completed in May.

It should be noted the investment in said work exceeds S/11 million (around US$3.29 million) and will benefit 2,000 families following its completion. 

On the occasion, he was joined by Production Minister Raul Perez-Reyes. 

In this sense, the Head of State noted the coordination among the Executive Branch and the local, as well as regional governments, to boost important projects for the benefit of the most in need. 

"This is how the Government's three levels must work, together for the development of Ilo (City) and Moquegua region, as well as Peru's," the top official expressed. 

Furthermore, the statesman underlined the 2019 Dakar Rallycurrently taking place entirely in Peru— will traverse Moquegua, his hometown region. It also travels through Lima, Ica, Arequipa, and Tacna. 

He went on to add the Executive Branch seeks to take advantage of this race in order to promote the Inca country's attractions, such as its gastronomy.
