President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday highlighted that the number of patients —who have recovered from COVID-19— is higher than that of active cases. The result proves that the pandemic is being adequately faced in Peru.
Of the 282,365 positive COVID-19 cases registered in the country, 171,159 have recovered, whereas 101,000 are still active.
According to the top official, it means that the citizens, who overcame the disease, reach up to 63% of the total.
"That is extremely important, and it must go on," he expressed after stressing that this has been achieved thanks to the containment efforts undertaken during the quarantine.
