Peru: President meets with Moquegua region authorities

The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Tuesday met with Moquegua Region Governor Zenon Cuevas and Ilo Province Mayor Gerardo Carpio to coordinate diverse prevention measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Within this framework, the Head of State coordinated with regional authorities the actions needed during the current health emergency.

As is known,

the top official arrived in the southern area this morning to participate in the ceremony for the daily donation of 20 tons of medical oxygen to supply hospitals and health facilities.

The donation made by Southern Peru is equivalent to 15,080 ten-cubic-meter oxygen cylinders that will serve patients lying on 1,050 hospitalization beds or 500 ICU beds.

President Sagasti also brought 1,894 doses of COVID-19 vaccines aimed at health personnel working on the frontline in the fight against the pandemic, as well as 8,700 rapid antigen tests to timely detect the virus.
