Peru: President leads new Council of Ministers session

The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra currently leads a new session of the Council of Ministers, which evaluates the latest measures adopted within the framework of the state of emergency decreed by the Government against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The session takes place at the Lima-based Government Palace and sees the participation of the Ministerial Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos.

As is known, the Government extended the state of emergency from July 1 thru 31. It is characterized by localized quarantine in seven regions.

Initially set to last from March 16 to 30, the nationwide quarantine came to an end on June 30.
