The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte led an extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers.

The event took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

This Ministerial Cabinet gathering, chaired by Prime Minister Alberto Otarola, had the purpose of working on a preventive action plan in the face of possible Coastal El Niño phenomenon.

As is known, the Multisectoral Commission in Charge of the National Study of El Niño Phenomenon (ENFEN) changed the status from 'vigilant' to 'alert' mode.

The Executive Branch has indicated that the priority is to protect Peruvian families, especially the most vulnerable, and to be prepared for the phenomenon.
