Peru: President highlights boost to agriculture, food security

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, with whom he shares the vision of cooperation and defense of democracy.

Via social media, the Head of State mentioned the importance of boosting food security in Peru for the benefit of its citizens.


"Today, I had the opportunity to talk with Antonio Guterres about agriculture and the importance of fertilizers (urea) for food security in Peru. It is good to know that we share the same social vision, of cooperation and democracy," Mr. Castillo expressed on his official Twitter account.

The Peruvian President has been on a visit to the United States since September 18. He arrived in New York City to participate in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

The official delegation is also made up of Ministers Cesar Landa (Foreign Affairs), Kurt Burneo (Economy-Finance), Roberto Sanchez (Foreign Trade-Tourism), and Rosendo Serna (Education).
