Peru: President Castillo leads Council of Ministers session

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo led a new session of the Council of Ministers at the Government Palace in Lima on Wednesday.

At the event, reports on the situation and alternative solutions to the drought affecting various Peruvian regions were evaluated, as was the boost to investment in sanitation.

Executive Branch officials also analyzed the report on the status of the investigations into the airport accident on November 18, and the contingency plan for the closure of Jorge Chavez International Airport's runway.

Among other topics, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Labor-Employment Promotion presented reports on the upcoming Peru-Chile Presidential Meeting and IV Binational Cabinet, as well as on credits and debts to the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud), respectively.

Earlier today, the

Head of State held a meeting with Puno region leaders.

Afterwards, Mr. Castillo inspected EsSalud's Trecca Tower in Lima.
