The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday summoned political parties and civil society to form a broad-based Ministerial Cabinet, with the aim of working for Peru.
"I call on political parties, civil society, and organizations to become part of a broad-based Cabinet that works for Peru," Mr. Castillo expressed later via his official Twitter account.
"I have robbed no one, I have killed no one. The people have put me here, and I will always respond for the people," he added.
Moreover, the top official explained that speculations regarding his statements continue to emerge. Thus, he said "I will always collaborate with justice and will not deal with media cases, because I was elected as President of the Republic to work in order to meet the needs of all Peruvians."
"I rule out any attempt to obstruct justice; on the contrary, I reaffirm myself in always collaborating with the required investigations," he stated.
In Peru, the Public Ministry is independent from the Executive Branch.
