The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday supervised the delivery of humanitarian aid to La Libertad Regional Government —within the framework of the Con Punche Peru Solidario program.

The 56 tons of aid —delivered at the region's warehouse— will serve to attend to people affected by heavy rains and landslides that hit this northern Peruvian zone.

During this event, the Head of State was joined by Prime Minister Alberto Otarola and several Cabinet members.

According to the President, in the face of natural disasters it is important that all sectors stand united —meaning the National, Regional, and Local Governments, plus private companies— in order to support all victims.

Within this framework, the top official specified that her government had found a (Peruvian) State that was lacking supplies. Yet her administration provided all the machinery, and even rented part of it, to restore the affected areas.

The Head of State also highlighted the willingness of the Armed Forces, through the Army's Engineering Battalion, as well as of the National Police, "who are at the service of the population."

Similarly, Mrs. Boluarte reaffirmed that the Executive Branch is getting prepared to face the upcoming Coastal El Niño phenomenon.

"We are leaving La Libertad after hard work; we leave completed and advanced tasks, and we return to Lima to continue working," she concluded.
