Prime Minister Anibal Torres on Friday reiterated his call on Parliament to work together with the Executive Branch for the sake of all citizens so as to build a fairer country that offers greater opportunities.
"Before giving the floor to
(Economy and Finance) Minister Kurt Burneo, so that he can detail each one of the points that I have just mentioned, I would like to reiterate my call to continue working together for (the benefit of) every Peruvian man and woman," he expressed.
The Cabinet chief indicated that this joint work should serve to jointly combat the problems caused by the international economic context and "seek a fairer Peru with greater opportunities for all."
Poverty
Concerning social protection for poverty alleviation, the high-ranking official explained that the budget to finance social protection actions will increase by 9% compared to the 2022 budget, reaching S/7.806 billion (about US$2.023 billion) for next year.
On August 26, the Executive Branch presented the Public Sector Budget Bill for Fiscal Year 2023, which totals S/214.790 billion (US$55.659 billion).
