Peru: PM reaffirms Government's commitment to girls

In a message on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, Peru's Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez reaffirmed the Government's commitment to all girls in Peru.

"The People's Government will continue to make efforts to ensure that they grow healthy, that they develop with full rights, in equality, without violence or discrimination," she wrote in a tweet.

Likewise, the First Vice-President of the Republic and Development-Social Inclusion Minister Dina Boluarte noted that girls have the potential to change the world.

"This Government —led by President Pedro Castillo— is working to build a more equitable and inclusive future for them. Happy International Day of the Girl Child," she posted on Twitter.

For her part, Women and Vulnerable Populations Minister Anahi Durand stated that girls have the ability to transform the world and must live in a world without discrimination or violence.

"On the International Day of the Girl Child, we reaffirm our commitment to working towards a country where they (girls) have the same rights and opportunities, and can finally be happy," she said.
