Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos on Monday participated in a civic activity to bring health services closer to the vulnerable population in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The activity was held in Poyeni (Junin region), a community that aims to contribute to the prevention and fight against COVID-19.

"We are here to reiterate the country's commitment to further coordinating and working with the community and authorities," the Cabinet chief said during his visit.

According to the President of the Council of Ministers, this civic activity is a clear example of our responsibility towards them (native communities) in difficult situations like the current pandemic.

"There is a nation that is concerned and attentive to you, the health of children, and the elderly. As a Government, we have ordered that these actions be permanent and, to do so, a multisectoral commission has been established to serve all native communities," he added.
