Peru's non-traditional exports amounted to US$1.095 billion in June 2018, thus expanding 16% over the same month last year, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) informed.
Within this framework, export volume increased 12.3%, underpinned by the good performance of farming and fishery sectors.
Positive results have been registered since August 2016. It must be noted there was a rise in sales of
fishery (33.2%),
farming (11.3%), textile (19%), and chemical (13.2%) goods last June.
In terms of export value, there was an increase in fresh avocados (6.6%), frozen (56.8%) and canned (47.3%) giant squid,
zinc products (30.6%), fresh asparagus (30%), shrimp feed (13.9%), and frozen fruits (39.9%), among others.
As for markets, higher sales to Andean countries (25.1%), Asia (22.3%), and the European Union (17.5%) were registered in the analyzed period.
