on Saturday published new guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in air transportation.
It establishes physical distancing of one meter at air terminals and the use of a double facemask or one of high filtration capacity.
The document —approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 1195-2021MTC/01 and published in the
Official Gazette El Peruano— is titled "Sectoral guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19 in the provision of passenger and cargo air transportation services."
Among its main provisions is maintaining physical distance of one meter at air terminals.
Another provision established in the guidelines is the proper use of respiratory protection (use of a double facemask or mask with high filtration capacity such as N95, KN95, FFP2, or KF94) during the flight and while at the airport. This does not apply to children under two years of age.
International flights
In the case of international flights, the following additional requirements are established: passengers over 12 years of age must prove that —14 days before the flight— they have already received the full doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or present a negative molecular test certificate, whose results were issued up to 72 hours before boarding a flight.
Likewise, on those flights children under 12 only need to be asymptomatic in order to board an aircraft.
