Peru: National Institute of Radio and Television signs agreement with Italy's RAI

The National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP) has signed a cooperation agreement with Italia's State-owned broadcaster Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI) aimed at executing joint audiovisual productions.

This accord will enable staff training, content acquisition, cooperation, and programs exchange, as well as the participation in festivals of both broadcasters. 

"This agreement marks a milestone in the relations between Peru and Italy. It is the first agreement of this kind, and it seeks to strengthen ties in the audiovisual field," IRTP Chairman Hugo Coya expressed. 

Likewise, he indicated a first project on Italy's contribution to the Inca country's independence, as well as to the development of the nation as a republic, is in production. 

The event took place at Torre Tagle Palace —the seat of Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry— in Lima.

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio and Italian Ambassador Giancarlo Maria Curcio were also present at the signing ceremony. 

The National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP) is attached to the Ministry of Culture. Its aim is to coordinate actions for spreading educational, informational, cultural, and entertainment content.
