It is also supervising the removal works on the runway.
"Although the work has been carried out intensively by the airline, in permanent coordination with LAP and authorities, this is taking longer than (previously) estimated due to the complexity of the accident and the treatment given the fuel spill caused," it specified.
Consequently, LAP has requested extending the suspension of operations until 00:00 on November 20, 2022.
Moreover, the institution reported that it is working in parallel on the repair of the pavement, lights, and others so as to guarantee the safety of passengers and aircraft.
"The reopening of the runway and aeronautical operations will only be possible following the approval by the corresponding authority," it concluded.
