The Executive Branch decided to establish new capacity limits for economic activities in the different regions across the country with the aim of preventing the spread of the second wave of COVID-19. The measure will be in force on January 15-31.
To that end, the regions were put into three alert levels: moderate, high, and very high.
1) Moderate alert: Amazonas, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Loreto, San Martin, and Ucayali.
2) High alert: Arequipa, Apurimac, Cajamarca, Callao, Cusco, Huanuco, La Libertad, Metropolitan Lima, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno, and Tumbes.
3) Very high alert: Ancash, Ica, Junin, Lambayeque, Lima provinces, Piura, and Tacna.
In the second group —made up of
malls, shopping arcades, and department stores— the capacity limit will be 50% in regions under moderate alert, 40% in regions under high alert, and 30% in regions under very high alert.
As for
restaurants, the capacity limit will be 60% in regions under moderate alert, 50% in regions under high alert, and 40% in regions under very high alert.
