The
Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has authorized the trip by
Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ignacio Higueras to India, Korea, and Australia, in order to continue promoting bilateral relations, as part of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Peru and said countries.
In this sense, the resolution authorizes the trip —on commission of services— to the cities of New Delhi, Republic of India; Seoul, Republic of Korea; as well as Sydney and Canberra, Australia; from April 12 to 21 this year.
Peru established diplomatic relations with the above-mentioned countries in 1963, so this year marks the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
Activities
Higueras' presence in the city of New Delhi (India), from April 14 to 15, is necessary to hold the Second Meeting of the Peru-India Mixed Commission, among other activities, with the aim of strengthening political and economic ties between the two countries.
Similarly, the resolution stressed the need for the Peruvian government official to participate at the Sixth Meeting of the Peru-Korea Mixed Commission for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, as well as the Seventh Meeting of the Peru-Korea Political Consultation Mechanism, among other activities, from April 16 to 18 in the city of Seoul (Korea).
Moreover, his presence in Sydney and Canberra (Australia), from April 19 to 21, will be required to participate at the Third Meeting of the Peru-Australia Bilateral Consultation and Cooperation Mechanism, as well as to meet with representatives of the Pacific Islands accredited to Australia.
