The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) on Tuesday announced that capacity limit at Jorge Chavez International Airport will be expanded and that the number of flights at said air terminal, as well as at airports located in regions, will be increased.

"During a meeting between Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Roberto Sanchez and Health Minister Hernando Cevallos, it was agreed that Lima's Jorge Chavez Airport and those located in regions will offer more capacity and flights," the ministry reported via Twitter.

Likewise, Mincetur announced that cruise tourism will resume in Peru.

"Additionally, Tumbes, just like Tacna, will open their borders following universal vaccination," the government agency said.

"All measures will be given under a strict biosafety protocol. Let's reactivate tourism in a responsible manner!" it added.
