The number of formal jobs in the private sector increased 3.5% in September and 3.6% in the first nine months of the year, according to figures provided by Sunat's electronic payroll system, Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR) reported on Monday.

The issuing entity affirmed that services, trade and construction sectors witnessed the highest increase in the number of formal private sector jobs.

In addition, it noted that —between January and September this year— the most dynamic segments in terms of creation of jobs were services, farming, and trade.

On the other hand, employment at national level —which includes formal, informal, private, and public sectors— rose 1.8% in July-September 2019.

Moreover, BCR reported that employment in the urban sector recorded a growth of 2.2%.
