Peru's total landing volumes of fishery resources may have amounted to 7.2 million tons in 2018, thus
, Production Ministry (Produce) has informed.
According to Minister Raul Perez-Reyes, total landings reached 6.1 million metric tons (MT) between January and November 2018, registering a 47% expansion
compared to the same period in 2017.
Lastly, the cabinet member underlined there was only one artisanal fishing pier (DPA) relying on sanitary authorization in the first quarter of 2018, but eight more were added until December.
"This authorization enables fishermen who work at these DPAs to have the permission to unload hydrobiological products and sell them to the local market, as well as to markets in the United States, Asia, and the European Union," he concluded.
