Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio welcomed Sovereign Military Order of Malta's Grand Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The official's visit was aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Within this framework, the diplomats addressed how to mobilize the human and hospital resources of the Order in order to contribute to the international humanitarian action aimed at attending to the Venezuelan migrants' crisis.

In Peru, the Order of Malta supports the Government's efforts in social and humanitarian projects indented for the most vulnerable sectors.

The Sovereign Order of Malta is one of the oldest institutions of Western and Christian civilization. A lay religious order of the Catholic Church since 1113 and a subject of international law, the Sovereign Order of Malta has diplomatic relations with over 100 states and the European Union, as well as permanent observer status at the United Nations. It is neutral, impartial, and apolitical.
