Peru's National Superintendence of Migrations has decided to extend until April 7, 2021 the deadline established for the "Pre-registration for the Extraordinary Regularization of Foreign Persons – DS10."

The extension was authorized on Friday through a resolution published in the official gazette El Peruano.

It should be noted that special, exceptional, and temporary measures were adopted through Supreme Decree No. 010-2020-IN to regularize the immigration status of foreigners in an irregular migratory situation in the country.

Update of data

It was also agreed that foreign persons who have been registered through the pre-registration process will be able to update their data on the National Superintendence of Migrations' portal.

Regularization of Venezuelan nationals

The resolution also stipulates that all foreign citizens who are in Peru and who have registered information with the National Superintendence of Migrations —including Venezuelan citizens who have applied for or have obtained a Temporary Resident Permit (PTP)— are required to update their data on the website.

This also applies to foreign nationals who are in Peru and are not registered with the National Superintendence of Migrations.

Moreover, compliance with the requirement for update will be overseen. If foreign citizens fail to update their information, the National Superintendence of Migrations can start verification and, if appropriate, impose sanctions, such as fines or even deportation.
