14:07 | Pucallpa (Ucayali region), Aug. 13.

Peru's Expo Amazonica 2018 surpassed S/94 million (US$28.592 million) in the business rounds held as part of the four-day fair, which exceeded all expectations, Ucayali Region Governor Manuel Gambini informed.

This represented a major step for the Amazonian peoples, who will have the opportunity to export their products to international markets

It should be noted Expo Amazonica 2018 welcomed over 60,000 visitors —including Peruvians and foreigners— at Yarinacocha Exhibition Center, breaking an important record in the region.

The official thanked the efforts of the people, who had organized the Amazon's most awaited fair, as well as Ucayali's population, who made this success possible.

During the closing ceremony, Gambini handed over the official relay to Loreto Vice-Governor Pedro Portocarrero, who affirmed such events seek to unite all families.

"We're pleased as Loreto will be the venue for the great event next year," Portocarrero expressed.

Producers from Amazonian regions such as Amazonas, Loreto, San Martin, Huanuco, and Madre de Dios, among others, joined the fair.

Furthermore, native and emblematic products, food and beverages, crafts, tourism, native flowers, natural, and biotrade products were offered at 430 stands set up on the occasion.

The Expo Amazonica 2018 fair took place in Pucallpa on August 9-12.
