Peru's national soccer team defeated its Colombian counterpart 2-1 in a Group B game of the
2021 Copa America tournament on Sunday.
The match was played at Pedro Ludovico Teixeira Olympic Stadium in the Brazilian city of Goiania.
Peru won thanks to a goal by Sergio Peña in the 17th minute and an own goal by Yerry Mina (65'), while Miguel Borja scored for Colombia in the 53rd minute.
As a result, the Incas moved up to third place in Group B. Peru's next opponent will be Ecuador on Wednesday, June 23.
Thus, Peruvians are on their way back to the quarterfinals of the CONMEBOL competition.
