Peru defeats Brazil in friendly match

Peru's national soccer team on Tuesday night defeated its Brazilian counterpart (1-0) in a friendly game held at the LA Memorial Coliseum in the United States.

The first half ended with the score showing a partial 0-0 draw.


Brazilian top star Neymar Jr. entered the field in the 63rd minute to replace Roberto Firmino.

In the 85th minute, Peruvian midfielder Yoshimar Yotun sent the ball to teammate Luis Abram, whose head touched it in the goal box and managed to slide it into the net.

Thus, Peru saw a 1-0 triumph against South America's strongest squad.


Peru's all-time goal scorer Paolo Guerrero was not part of the Inca squad on this occasion. In the case of Brazil, stars Thiago Silva and Dani Alves remained on the bench during the entire match.
