Peru's Executive Branch has established the Justice System Reform Commission, attached to the Presidency of the Republic, according to a Supreme Resolution published Friday in El Peruano official gazette.
The consultative commission is intended to propose urgent and concrete measures to
reform the justice system and thus contribute to effective, timely, transparent, efficient, and incorruptible justice.
The group consists of Allan Wagner (Chairman), Delia Revoredo, Hugo Sivina, Samuel Abad, Eduardo Vega, Ana Teresa Revilla, and Walter Alban.
It must be noted the commission members' participation is honorary.
The presidential office is taking care of the technical secretariat, whose function is to support the commission's work on the application, collection, and analysis of data, the organization of meetings, preparation of minutes, and drafting of documents.
As stated in the resolution, the first report —on urgent and concrete measures— shall be submitted to the
President of the Republic within 12 days of the commission's establishment.
The resolution was signed by
President Martin Vizcarra, Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva, as well as Justice and Human Rights Minister Salvador Heresi.
