Therefore, the sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness of small- and medium-scale of family farming producers are expected to increase.
For that reason, Peruvian Minister Fabiola Muñoz held a meeting with China's Department of International Cooperation Official Wang Jing.
In this sense, both authorities expressed their agreement on prioritizing research focused on providing healthy foods, such as quinoa and potato.
Later, research on products from the Amazon —like chestnuts—will be included as well.
Work agenda
During the meeting, the Asian Giant reaffirmed its willingness to promote the entry of Peruvian products with the aim of consolidating healthy consumption among its population.
Within this framework, it was agreed on to prioritize the compliance with formalities to sign Peruvian avocados access protocol to China.
The Chinese delegation's visit is the outcome of an invitation made by Minister Muñoz during her participation at the International Potato Fair held in Beijing last June.
