Peru attractions inspire colors of world-class nail polish

00:00 | Lima, Aug. 3.

Peru's beautiful geographical, historical, and tourist attractions have inspired OPI —a world leader in the nail care industry available in over 100 countries— to launch its new Peru collection.

The Rainbow Mountain and Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in Cusco, as well as Paracas desert in Ica region gave the idea to create flashy and innovative shades.

Peru's profound, ancient cultural roots —expressed in endless, different folkloric manifestations— and the vast array of colors found in its world-renowned ancient textiles contributed, too.

According to OPI's representative Lorena Fernandez, the firm met with artisans from the Peruvian highlands to learn about the country's sustainable handmade fashion.

Moreover, she said, they discovered wonderful and colorful textiles made using techniques passed down from generation to generation for hundreds of years.

Internationally recognized Peruvian model Juana Burga, the campaign's muse, joined the OPI team in its discovery tour through Peru, exploring the country's spectacular landscapes and culture in a colorful and magical experience.

According to Fernandez, the advertising campaign took almost two years for its consolidation, and the videos —featuring Peru's millenary culture— will be shown all over the world.

"There is no doubt Peru is one of the most wonderful places on earth. The country is quite rich in culture and beauty," explained OPI Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann.
