16:52 | Lima, Sep. 26.

Asian visitors prefer visiting tourist sites such as Machu Picchu (Cusco region), the Amazon or the Nazca Lines (Ica region), Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) affirmed Thursday.

According to PromPeru's Incoming Tourism Promotion Deputy Director Sandra Doig, tourists from Asia visit the South American country preferably between January and April and are buyers of domestic quality products.

"Asian markets are interesting and growing around the world," Doig expressed.

Likewise, the official noted Asian tourists stay in the Inca country between 8 and 10 days, and their average spending is above US$1,400 per day.

Doig also mentioned they stay at four- and five-star hotels. "These tourists prefer smart hotels, and they can already find them in the country," she said.

Business deals at the 2019 Asia Business Conference are projected to exceed the amount reached in 2017 (US$80 million). Over 900 business meetings are expected to take place on the occasion.
