Peru's "Ancient Civilization of the Andes" special exhibition was inaugurated in the northeastern Chinese city of Tianjin on January 17, the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported on Wednesday.
It was composed of 170 archaeological pieces from 11 museums and corresponding to various pre-Columbian cultures such as: Chavin, Cupisnique, Paracas, Nazca, Moche, Tiahuanaco, Wari, Sican, Chimu, and Inca.
Likewise, the exhibit curator was renowned archaeologist Izumi Shimada.
This exhibition featured various computer graphics, illustrative paintings, and videos.
In addition, the visitors enjoyed a cocktail party where they tasted the flagship drink known as
Pisco Sour and national snacks offered by the
Peruvian Embassy based in Beijing.
It must be noted the important archaeological exhibit is itinerant and has been presented in some of the main cities of the Asian Giant.
Last September, the exhibition was inaugurated in the capital of Shanxi province, Taiyuan.
In the next few months, it will arrive in the cities of Chongqing, Changsha, and Canton.
