The arrival of electoral materials (returned after voting) from polling places set up in various countries around the world for the presidential runoff began Monday morning and is expected to conclude on Wednesday night.
The diplomat specified that on the return of ballots and electoral records from abroad will be completed Wednesday, June 10, at around 9:00 p.m.
The consul from Buenos Aires, Argentina, will arrive with all electoral materials corresponding to that country.
"It is a large community (Peruvians in Argentina), and the materials are transported as cargo under a chain of custody. The transfer from the airport to the electoral facility in Lima is carried out in accordance with a protocol and under police protection," Bravo indicated.
He reported that the arrival of electoral materials in Peru began on Monday at 10:30 a.m. and will continue for three days.
Voting day conducted normally
At another point, Ambassador Bravo said the presidential runoff was conducted normally abroad.
The official noted that all polling stations were set up, most of them before 8:00 a.m., although some opened at 9:30 a.m., but no later than that.
The diplomat noted that both voting and the vote count were conducted without incident.
In many cases, the count was completed within one to one-and-a-half hours once voting had ended.
Furthermore, Ambassador Bravo specified that the presidential runoff abroad was organized by 119 consular offices across 219 polling locations in over 60 countries.
He added that the largest number of voters is concentrated in countries across the Americas, primarily in the United States, followed by Argentina, Colombia, and Chile.
