Peru: US$13,283 reward for locating man who burned woman alive

The Ministry of Interior (Mininter) offers a reward worth S/50,000 (about US$13,283) to anyone who provides information on the whereabouts of Sergio Tarache Parra, who burned his ex-partner alive in an area located close to Plaza Dos de Mayo (May 2nd Roundabout) in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

The man, a Venezuelan national, was included in Mininter's Rewards Program after the death of Katherine Gomez. It occurred last Friday at Lima-based Arzobispo Loayza Hospital, where she was hospitalized.

The 18-year-old woman was summoned by Tarache on Saturday, March 18, on a street near the busy roundabout.

Once there, he threw gasoline on her and then set her on fire. The young woman was left with burns on 60% of her body.
