Over 1 million people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Peru

More than one million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Peru, the Government has reported.

The website of the Pongo el Hombro (I Lend the Shoulder) platform reported that 1,041,443 Peruvians have received the first dose, while 622,868 have gotten the second one.

In total —according to information updated as of May 1— 1,664,331 doses (including the first and second shot) have been administered so far.

The vaccination of adults aged above 70 began on Friday, after completing the immunization of people over 80.

The goal of the Government is to get 4,650,000 people vaccinated against COVID-19 by July 28 this year.
