Peru participated in the 27th
at Paris Porte de Versailles from October 28 to November 1 —with an exclusive stand to promote the exportable offer of chocolate and cacao from companies and cooperatives of various producing areas in San Martin, Piura, Ucayali, Amazonas, Iquitos, Cusco, Madre de Dios, and Junin regions.
During the opening event, the chocolate fashion show stood out.
It served as a showcase to exhibit Peru's creativity and design with a dress by Peruvian designer Ricardo Davila, crafted along with master pastry chef Hugues Pouget —champion of France.
The confection with Amazonian fabric and motifs in its design deserved the recognition from attendees —being worn by Miss France 2020, Clémence Botino.
Peru's Ambassador to France, Rolando Ruiz Rosas
, visited the Peruvian stand at the Salon to greet the representatives of the 13 participating companies and cooperatives, learn about their exportable supply, as well as encourage them to expand their markets and products.
The organization and coordination for the Peruvian stand, which highlights the recent archaeological research on the Andean origin of cacao, was in charge of Peru's Trade Office for France and Switzerland (OCEX Paris) —a PromPeru
unit attached to the Embassy.
Salon du Chocolat
is the largest international fair dedicated to cacao and its derivatives.
It saw the participation of more than 500 international exhibitors, whose main objective is to offer a space that houses professionals dedicated to the production and marketing of chocolate and cacao —both for consumers, as well as for those who manage this industry and its services.
