The Lima 2019 Parapan American games sold more tickets than the other previous editions held in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Canada, Lima 2019 Organizing Committee Chairman Carlos Neuhaus has affirmed.

"Peru had never organized anything close to the scale of Lima 2019, but together we achieved a tremendous success," he expressed.

According to Neuhaus, Parapan American competitions were attended by almost 170,000 people, adding 12,000 tickets were given to children in vulnerable situations.

Likewise, he indicated 175 records were broken, nine of them were world records.

Furthermore, athletes of 13 Para sports have gathered significant points to participate at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo (Japan).

Within this framework, Neuhaus told Para sportspeople at Videna that they are extraordinary and "have opened the hearts of all Peruvians and captivated the entire continent."

Finally, he thanked all the people who made possible the organization of this mega event, including the Executive Branch, Lima Mayor, Police members, Armed Forces, Ombudsman's Office, and especially, the volunteers and teams that organized the inauguration and closing ceremonies.
