On Wednesday morning,
Juan Reynoso signed the contract that made him the new coach of the Peruvian national soccer team until 2026.
The signing took place at the facilities of the
Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) in the presence of FPF Chairman Agustin Lozano and the FPF's Soccer Department Director General Juan Carlos Oblitas.
Reynoso arrived in Lima this morning from Mexico and immediately headed to the facilities of the National Sports Village (Videna), where some members of the current Board —led by Agustin Lozano— were waiting for him.
They had a brief conversation, which was followed by the signing of the contract that will link the 52-year-old coach with the Peruvian team until the end of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
It should be noted that, in case Peru manages to qualify for the World Cup, such contract will be automatically extended until the end of the world's largest sporting event.
"Welcome to your home. This has always been your home, and we are very happy to share this moment with you," said Agustin Lozano as he welcomed the new strategist of the national squad.
Afterwards, the brand-new coach attended a press conference at the Videna, where he was officially introduced to the media and answered some questions about his new challenge of qualifying the Blanquirroja (Red-White Team) for a World Cup.
