One out of 10 Peruvians with Internet access used Twitter at least on one occasion in the last month, Kantar IBOPE Media's Target Group Index (TGI) study revealed.

On an ordinary day, the majority of the Inca country's users access this social media between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., accounting for 17% of the total. Meanwhile, 13% use Twitter between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Likewise, 98% of Peruvian Twitter users get connected from Mondays to Fridays, whereas 81% do so on the weekends.

According to the study, people share tweets from their smartphones (96%).

One out of two Peruvians accesses the Internet while watching TV. Plus, one out of 10 Twitter users leaves comments about the shows he/she watches.

So far this year, over 829,000 tweets about TV series have been posted.

In this sense, 309,000 tweets (37% of the total) are inspired by the news. Then, contests register over 195,000 tweets. Finally, journalistic TV shows —broadcast on the weekends— record 175,000 tweets.
