Peruvian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ignacio Higueras has visited the European Union Emergency Response Coordination Centre in Brussels, where the situation occurring in our country due to heavy rains is being monitored.

At the site, the Peruvian government official was received by EU Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarcic.

"This center actively supported Peru during the floods (that occurred) in the north in 2017 and remains alert to the cooperation it can provide to our country so as to address the current emergency caused by increased rainfall," the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported via its Twitter account.

The Peruvian diplomat is currently in Brussels where he has been participating in the International Conference in Solidarity with Venezuelan Refugees and Migrants and their Host Countries and Communities since last Thursday.
