Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gets official invitation to visit Peru

13:46 | Hong Kong, Jul. 10.

Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, was surprised and delighted when he received a Peruvian Government's invitation to visit the Inca nation along with his family.

"This is very official," said an impressed Johnson while holding the letter informing him of the good news that he and his family may be arriving in Lima on the date that works best for him.

The invitation was extended during a promotional event of the movie Skyscraper, starring Johnson.

Set in Hong Kong, the film will hit Peruvian theaters on Thursday, July 19.

Peruvian journalist and cinema critic Maykoll Calderon reminded the actor this was the fourth time they met and that every time Johnson gave an interview he expressed his wish to visit the Andean nation —a wish that is waiting to come true.

"I'm going to make things easier. This is an official invitation from the Peruvian Government for you to go to Peru next year (…). You have to decide the date and the place you want to visit," Calderon told Dwayne Johnson as he gave him the document.

"I want to say thank you very much. Thank you to the Peruvian Government and to all the people of Peru who have supported me throughout the years. Thank you very much," said the famous actor after receiving the certified invitation.
