BCR: Peru economy may have registered good performance in September 2019

Peru's GDP growth in September 2019 may have been high, like in the previous months of July and August this year, Macroconsult Economist Elmer Cuba has said.


In this sense, Cuba —who is also a Central Reserve Bank (BCR) Director— indicated that Peruvian economy is strong, as it has resisted international turbulences

2020 GDP forecast 

Likewise, he projected Peru's economy will grow between 2% and 3% in 2020, taking into account that anchovy catches and the mining sector will return to normality. 

Furthermore, the BCR representative estimated public investment will expand 10% next year considering it will not slow down in 2019, even though there was the change in sub-national authorities earlier this year.

Remarks were made during Moody's: Inside LatAm 2019 — Peru event held in Lima on Wednesday.
